The 7 Sacred Teachings & 7 Chakras
with Special Guest teacher Audrey Martin
Service Description
Indigenous Awareness Week is June 14–21. This week holds so much meaning—especially with June 21 being National Indigenous Peoples Day, the Summer Solstice, and International Yoga Day! It’s a beautiful moment for us to come together in practice, reflection, and connection. Please join us Wednesday June 18th 6:00pm-7:30pm in Stanley Park for this special event! 🌿 The Seven Sacred Teachings Yoga Class 🌿 This 90-minute class blends yoga and meditation with the Seven Sacred Teachings—core values shared through Indigenous animal teachings (like the Bison for Respect and the Eagle for Love). Each one is paired with a chakra, creating a deeply intentional practice that invites people to slow down, listen, and connect more meaningfully—with themselves and with the land. Developed 7 years ago with elder Charlotte Yellowhorn McLeod, It’s accessible, heart-led, and open to all levels. We move gently, breathe deeply, and reflect on what it means to walk in good relation—with ourselves, others, and the world around us. I end this class with drumming and song in a good way. Why this offering matters: This class is more than just movement—it’s an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous folks alike to come into relationship with traditional teachings in a respectful, embodied way. It's also a lovely way for your studio to honour Indigenous Awareness Week while celebrating yoga as a tool for healing and unity. This special 90 mins class is $20/person but if you need to make a different contribution, please email krystal@outdooryoga.ca and I will ensure you can attend, no problem.
